Project 1: YoungTravel

Context

when? where? who? why?

Today, most students, either in middle school or in high school, are lucky enough to take part in extracurricular activities with their schools! Even though it is a delight for them to discover new activities alongside their classmates, most of them do not decide what they do or where they travel! Our application will change that, it will allow them to collaborate with their teacher in order to choose the activities that they will be able to discover and the path they are gonna take while they are on their school trip!

This will allow them to learn how to be more self-sufficient, while having the help and support of their teacher! The goal is to make the students feel like they organized a trip on their own!

The school and the children will be able to pick from a large range of outdoor activities, sports, museums! Everything that we will talk about on our application will be shown on a map! That way if you are planning a trip in a specific area, you can easily see what the place has to offer!

Our app will show activities from the European Union only, as every user will have to be a member of the EU in order to participate!
Target

for whom?

Our application is mainly designed for schools! Even if the users will be the students, the person paying for the subscription will be the school! Any school based in a country from the European Union will be able to subscribe and participate!

Service offered

what? how?

We offer a catalogue of field trip. Students have the possibility to interact with the other students thanks to an instant messaging in order to prepare their field trip in group or even to have advice from students who already did the same field trip. The app bring access to a personalized proposition of field trip with critera such as the average age of the group of student, the price, the weather, the region and the means transport.

Students have the possiblity to interact with students from other school in order to prepare a bigger field trip bringing together several schools.An algorithm is linking schools in the same area interested by the same field trip.

Of course, their is a system of notifications for the instant messaging, for advice, promotion, etc...

A health tab is available giving information about first aid advices, risk areas, vaccines if needed, and epidemics in progress in the region during this period.

Our app is closed to the use of data by other companies. It is an accessible and secure network: verification that the persons who sign up are students, a network open only for students, and easy to use. Our network is closed to advertising. Students can sign up for free.

Project 2: name of your second project

Context

when? where? who? why?

Application allow a kind of digital treasure hunt: basically, qr codes are previously hidden in places, and with the phone you have to find them and then scan them with the help of clues. A small group of students is with an adult who owns the phone. Pedagogical and cultural possibilities: "biology" lessons by doing this in nature, "history" lessons by doing this in monuments, famous places, literary and so on...

The concept is simple : the track begins by an enigma that lead to a place where a QR code is hidden. Once scanned, a second enigma appears to lead the group to a second QR code and so on. The goal is to create enigmas based on historical or biological facts (depending on the topic). At the end of every

Target

for whom?

Teachers in primary school, to go on school outings with their students. Eventually, anyone wishing to play and learn with our application. The main target is still schools, because the app is made to be used by a teacher leading the game.

Service offered

what? how?

Constantly updating the app to ensure that more and more tracks are available on the app: this involves people who will nail the QR codes, others who create the puzzles/educational content, and finally those who code the app. The app will clearly clarify which field is addressed (history, biology...), the theme, the difficulty...

A possibility for the teacher to rate and commentate each track to help the other teachers to chose a track.

Benchmark

Competitors exist, there are already applications that organize virtual treasure hunts. However, our application is really pedagogic.we want this application to be totally reliable in its pedagogical content, the different tracks to be made in accordance with the national education program and these tracks to be checked by teachers before being made available on the site. In this way, the application differs from its competitors since it is truly and fully oriented towards schools: to my knowledge, there are no competitors in this field.
